Stainless Steel Standard Weights

Our factory, in collaboration with research institutions such as the National Institute of Metrology of China and the National Iron and Steel Research Institute of the Ministry of Metallurgy, has jointly developed JF-1 non-magnetic stainless steel (density 8.000 g/cm³). Weighing standards of the E2 class and other “International Recommendations” manufactured from this material were officially approved by a panel of experts in Beijing in 1991.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Calibration Interval for Weights

Customers often overlook the calibration interval for weights, resulting in accuracy exceeding specifications after prolonged use. Under normal operating conditions, industrial-grade weights (M1 and M2 classes) should be calibrated every 1–2 years, while high-accuracy weights (E2 and F1 classes) require annual calibration. In special service environments—such as chemical processing or humid settings—the calibration interval should be shortened.

Daily Cleaning and Maintenance of Weights

When high-precision weights (such as E2 and F1 class) become contaminated with dust or oil, their mass may deviate from the nominal value. Therefore, direct hand contact with the surface of these weights is prohibited in daily use to prevent corrosion caused by sweat; instead, they should be wiped with anhydrous ethanol and allowed to air-dry naturally. Regular inspection and maintenance are also recommended.

Deformation issue with weight storage

Prolonged stacking, contact with hard objects, or exposure to high-temperature environments can cause slight deformation of weights, thereby affecting their accuracy. It is recommended to store weights in the factory-supplied weight boxes, arranged by category, in a dry, room-temperature, vibration-free environment, and to avoid stacking, compression, and direct sunlight.
