Penglai City Metrology Instruments and Components Factory was founded in 1984. Its principal product is weights, for which a trademark has been registered. In 2014, the “Guojian” trademark was recognized as a Well-Known Trademark of Shandong Province. The factory is equipped with state-of-the-art production facilities and high-precision testing instruments, and its products enjoy an excellent reputation both domestically and internationally. Notably, the factory, in collaboration with research institutions such as the National Institute of Metrology, China, and the National Iron and Steel Research Institute of the Ministry of Metallurgy, jointly developed JF-1 non-magnetic stainless steel (with a density of 8.000 g/cm³). Weights of the E2 class and other “International Recommendation” grades manufactured from this material were officially approved by a panel of experts in Beijing on June 20, 1991. Currently, the factory’s products are exported to numerous countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Sweden, India, Indonesia, Russia, Australia, and the Middle East, thereby fully aligning with international market standards and enabling Chinese weights to gain global recognition.

Since its establishment several decades ago, the company has continuously grown and prospered through the concerted efforts of leaders at all levels and all employees. It comprises a General Office, a Quality Control Department, a Metrological Standards Verification Laboratory, and a Production and Processing Workshop. Each department has clearly defined responsibilities and works closely in collaboration, resulting in the establishment of a comprehensive, modern management system. The company specializes in the production of stainless steel standard weights and cast-iron weights, available in accuracy classes E1, E2, F1, F2, M1, and M2, with capacities ranging from 2,000 kg to 1 mg. It supplies standard weights and custom-made weights to metrology authorities, defense systems, research institutions, colleges and universities, as well as industrial and mining enterprises both domestically and internationally.
